about

BIO FOR: Bluey
Michael Affleck, better known as Bluey is an English electronic artist and DJ.
With a strong upbringing of Soul, Motown and Rock music when he was very young to the electronic music of the 80's, these
influences were to map his musical style later in his life. In 1991 he was to hear a track called "Sweet Harmony" by Liquid which changed his life.
He discovered Hardcore. He started listening to pirate Stations and eventually bought a set of decks and began to mix in 1994.
He was finally given a break on Pirate radio in 1995 which eventually got him bookings in various clubs in London.
After establishing himself as a DJ on the underground scene Michael took some time out from DJ'ing around 2001 but began producing his own tracks.
With some quality time in the studio he was to start learning the art of production from his good friend, Atmospheric Drum and Bass artist Opuscape A.K.A. Dan Dodd.
From around 2001 Michael and Dan produced two track's called "Paradise" and "Analyze This" which were pressed on Dubplate but never got a full release. They also infamously wrote/produced the follow up sample CD called "Rizing Drum And Bass 2" released by Tekiniks Productions.
Since then Michael has been concentrating on refining his own production skills whilst maturing in his musical taste by listening to chill out, Ambient and Downtempo from such artists as Royksopp, José Padilla, Faithless, Orbital and many, many more.
With some good experience of production under his belt 2008-9 saw him stand up and take note of the Atmospheric Drum And Bass that was being produced and inspired him to bring his own style and take on the genre.
Michael likes to vary his style between dance floor, soulful Liquid tracks to Atmospheric melodic pieces.
Since his first release in 2010 on Cadence Recordings to his current releases on Mindstorm Records and Plush his tracks are being widely played by DJ's on Bassdrive, Atomic Vibes, Kool FM, Origin FM, Eruption FM, Renegade Radio, KrisisDnB etc.
With some interesting collaborations and remix works on the cards and anticipated forth coming releases on Plush, Emcee
Recordings, Mindstorm and Offworld. 2011 is sure to be a promising year for Bluey.
