BIO FOR: Thomas B
Thomas B, born Thomas Brinson and formerly know as Tommy Tarzan, embodied his previous DJ moniker for over 13 years. A true "Lord of the Jungle" behind the decks, The one they knew as Tarzan has rocked crowds from New York to San Diego. As every artist must evolve, so has the skill (and alias) of this hot producer/DJ. A proper champion for the music, from East Coast to West, Thomas B has a genuine love for his craft.

Born in Albany, New York, Thomas moved to Long Island at an early age. This is where the DJ known as Tarzan was created, when Thomas was exposed to the New York rave scene in the mid-'90s. After watching NY rave pioneer Frankie Bones perform, Thomas B heeded the call from the music, wanting to spread the feeling he was experiencing. Initially into the breakbeat sound, he quickly discovered his true home was in the Jungle, and so began his journey into Drum & Bass and beyond.

As Tarzan, Thomas B became actively involved in the rave scene, joining production crew Smoovegroove in 1997. It was with Smoovegroove that Tarzan participated in some of New York's most memorable events, such as Genesis, Lust 1-4, Feast 1 & 2, and Groove Theory, as well as countless weeklies and other underground events. Fast forward to the end of 2002 - Thomas B finds himself migrating to Tucson, Arizona. Quickly meeting up with local legend DJ Clay Steele and blossoming MC Shaun Harris, group AZ-One was formed and began performing at Arizona's largest dance events, such as Earthdance, Reflections, and many others. Since moving to Tucson, Thomas B has been integral in various weekly, monthly, and one-off EDM events.

Throughout his extensive DJ career, Thomas B has played with a who's-who of top talent; LTJ Bukem, Dieselboy, Hype, John B, Aphrodite, Total Science, Reid Speed, Friction, Black Sun Empire; even the late Hip Hop legend Jam Master Jay and on to contemporary powerhouses like Feed Me, The Upbeats, Datsik, and many more. A Thomas B set is an unabating, dynamic ride; rooted in drum & bass, while breaking down genre barriers into garage, 2-step, footwork and more. Never a dull moment, Thomas B also peppers the musical voyage with scratching and turntable trickery. His skills are exemplified in the compliment he received from LTJ Bukem; simply put "you are great at mixing."

As a budding producer, Thomas B scored a Beatport Top 10 (as one-half of duo Squarzan) with one of his first releases "Brought The Bass", leading to releases on seminal bass-music label Heavy Artillery Recordings. In 2013, Thomas B collaborated with Ghast (Onset, Requiem, Plush Recordings), creating the "Bone Dance" LP (Free Love Digi). The release garnered widespread support, including recognition by DrumNBass.net. With several releases coming in 2014, Thomas B needs not beat on his chest to be heard; the music speaks loud and clear.
